CARE TEAMS

Meal Team

What areas can I serve in?
Meal team opportunities include: Meal prep and delivery for those in need post-surgery or post-hospitalization.  
What skills/gifts would I need?
Willingness to either prep, cook, and deliver a meal, or purchase a to-go meal and deliver.  
How often would I serve?
Meal Team needs are on an as-needed basis; not everyone who goes into the hospital requires meals.  If you enjoy cooking and or would like to purchase a meal and deliver the meal, we welcome you to the team!
What are the steps toward serving?
1. Fill out our Team One application.
2. Meet with a team leader.
3. Attend the Journey Church training (2 hours) for all Care Team Members.
4. Be available when needs arise!  We will keep track of each team member when they serve so we do not overburden.

Visitation Team

What areas can I serve in?
Visitation team opportunities include: Hospital/Care home visitations or home visitations for shut-ins, care calling, and check-in.
What skills/gifts would I need?
Visitation care works best if you have the gift of compassion, have a listening ear, are willing to pray/read a scripture, and offer emotional support.  
How often would I serve?
Visitation will be as needs arise, for hospital/care home or home. If you are called upon and available, we’d love to partner with you. If you desire to meet with a widow or shut-in, you can meet as often as you like, but at least once per month.
What are the steps toward serving?
1. Fill out our Team One application.
2. Meet with a team leader.
3. Complete the background check. Journey Church covers this.
4. Attend the Journey Church training (2 hours) for all Care Team Members.
5. Be available when needs arise!  We will keep track of each team member when they serve so we do not overburden any team member.

New Baby Welcome Team

What areas can I serve in?
New Baby Welcome Team: Includes visiting with the new parents and baby at their home and bringing a special gift provided by Journey Church.
What skills/gifts would I need?
A love for babies and the gift of encouragement, so you can celebrate with the new parents.  
How often would I serve?
New babies come several times per year. We would love to have you partner with us.
What are the steps toward serving?
1. Fill out our Team One application.
2. Meet with a team leader.
3. Complete the background check. Journey Church covers this.
4. Attend the Journey Church training (2 hours) for all Care Team Members.
5. Be available when the parents are ready to have a visitation.
